Directing Workshop for Women

Over six three-hour classes, this workshop will look at the fundamentals of directing for the stage: script interpretation, preparation, working with designers, casting, staging, and working with actors. Through all of this we will also talk about how all aspects of the director’s role might be undertaken by a female director, and how a female director might be seen by the rest of the team. Is there a ‘female approach’? Do some theatre artists respond differently to a female at the helm? And if so, how should we respond?
