18+ Academy: Rituals of Theatre

New to Persephone Theatre!

Designed for those looking for more advanced learning of theatre techniques, Rituals of Theatre works on those elements that are brought into performance directly for the stage. Acknowledging cultural rituals through discussion and engagement, we will share with students the theatre disciplines of body and voice. Students will learn a karate kata (form) to understand physical presence and dynamics, and receive instruction in the musicality of the voice. There will be an on stage presentation at the end of the course as part of the Academy Performance Night.

The instructors will be Kent Allen, who has 40 years as a professional actor, and has a 3rd degree black belt in Karate, and Jane Redlyon, who is vastly experienced in theatre and uniquely associated with the William Poel vocal method.

Mondays 6:30-8:30 PM September 17-December 10, January 7-March 25 (NO CLASSES: OCTOBER 8, NOVEMBER 12, DECEMBER 11-JANUARY 6 & FEBRUARY 18)
